Brian McGowran - Principal Solicitor
First admitted to the legal profession in 1994, Principal Solicitor Brian McGowran possesses invaluable experience in Australian criminal law. Having practiced as a solicitor in South Australia, the Northern Territory, and now Queensland, Brian has seen his fair share of criminal cases in his life time.
As a young lawyer, Brian trod a well worn path in the legal industry, and sharpened his teeth in the Legal Aid system. He developed a reputation for fighting and winning the unwinnable cases that others in the system passed up. Brian excelled in his position within legal aid, and quickly moved up the ranks.
Like a great many of Queensland's Judges, Barristers and Law Firm Partners and even one ex-Premier, Brian left the Legal Aid system to the calling of private practice and in January 2006, McGowran Lawyers was established.
Brian's repour and respect within the legal profession has recently seen him elected Treasurer for the Central Queensland Law Association.
